West Coast Lady by West Coast Whiz2002 Palomino Mare

West Coast Lady is sired by the great West Coast Whiz (Topsail Whiz x My Moonstone Chex) out of Im Expensive Two (Hobby Horse x Jan’s Helen).

West Coast Whiz is a 1996 bay stallion and a future NRHA Million Dollar Sire. His list of accomplishments includes:
$131,592 Life Time Earnings
NRHA Open Derby Reserve Champion
NRHA Open Derby Co-Reserve Champion
Southwest Reining Horse Futurity Open Champion
30 AQHA Points, Performance ROM

I’m Expensive Two is a full sister to the legendary Expensive Hobby. The great reining and cowhorse trainer, Al Dunning, described Expensive Hobby as “the ideal reining horse”. Since Expensive Hobby was a gelding, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase West Coast Lady and add her genetics to my small band of brood mares. A quick phone call to Al Dunning himself confirmed that I had made a wise purchase. (Thank you for the advice, Mr. Dunning!)

Expensive Hobby’s Accomplishments:

AQHA World Champion Senior Working Cow Horse (1976)
AQHA World Champion Senior Working Cow Horse (1979)
AQHA World Champion Senior Reining Horse (1979)
AQHA Superior Cutting Horse
AQHA Hall of Fame

West Coast Lady is a finished reining horse, but has never been shown. I purchased her as a broodmare. Her previous owner said she was very laid back and easy to ride. Around the ranch, she is a pleasant horse to be around, well-mannered with veterinarians and farriers, and clips, bathes, and hauls without problems. Her two fillies by Who Whiz It and Lean With Me have been very likable, very cute, and have inherited lovely, long necks. They are also extremely physical; they tend to be the foals that show off with the most dramatic sliding stops and roll-backs, all done at full speed.
